Rosa Devine » The Scarecrow’s Heart

The brief for this project was to select a poem from Tony Curtis’ new book ‘Folk’ and create our own response. I chose the one of the poems from the scarecrow series ‘The Scarecrow’s Heart’ and took a series of photographs of my grandmother’s farm, particularly the old buildings and machinery that are little used today. The photographs accompany the full text of the poem in a small, hardback book.

One copy of this book was given by the poet Tony Curtis to the American sculptor Philip McCracken.
